Week of 1/5 - 1/19

WELCOME TO MS. TYLER'S LIFE SCIENCE CLASS!

SCIENCE PROJECTS WERE ASSIGNED ON 12/12/17 AND WILL BE DUE ON FEBRUARY 14TH . . . VALENTINE'S DAY!!

This week we will continue our study of the classification of living things. First, we will memorize the five kingdoms of living things from simplest to most complex. They are:  Bacteria, Protists, Fungi, Plants and Animals. Then we will begin to explore the major animal phyla and learn the criteria scientists use to group animals into each major phylum.

In addition, we will review all the scientists we have studied throughout the year. We have a problem mixing them up, so we are going to take a little time to figure out how to remember each and what he/she contributed to the field of science!

We will also spend some time considering our science projects which are due on February 14th! Please note that the written part of the project will be turned in to Ms. Tyler on paper only on the 14th. Ms. Tyler will grade them and return them to the students by March 1st. This is a test grade for Nine Weeks 3. Once the students have their graded projects, they may choose to put them on a tri-fold board for entry into the AMS school science fair. PLEASE REMIND STUDENTS THAT THE PROJECTS WILL NOT BE PUT ON BOARDS UNTIL THEY HAVE BEEN GRADED AND RETURNED!
