Supply Lists 2018-19

The 2018-2019 school year is just around the corner.  Here are the documents with the supply list information for Amherst Middle School for the 2018-2019 school year.  We are excited for the start of the school year, so get your shopping in to be prepared for school. 

Volleyball Tryouts

It is hard to believe that the beginning of Volleyball season is almost here!  Volleyball tryouts will take place at Amherst Middle School in the gym on the following dates and times:

Summer School 2018

Summer school information for our program this summer:

  • Will take place at Central Elementary School
  • One week long: July 30 - August 3.
  • Hours: 8 AM -2:30 PM each day.
  • Reading and Math Intervention along with some flex time and Recess/PE time. 
  • Transportation will be in contact with you about pick up and drop off locations and times soon.
  • We will be hosting the rising 6, 7, 8, and 9 graders and a bridge mathematics program.

Central Virginia Regional Science Fair Challenge Winners

 

The Central VA Regional Science Fair steering committee announces the 2018 Science Fair Challenge winners. The annual event held on May 8, was hosted by Randolph College. There were sixty-four  6th-8th grade participants who were local school winners  advancing to the regional event.

UPDATE - The following AMS students are to be congratulated for placing in the District Science Fair held at Randolph College on March 27.  These students' projects will go on to the Regional Science Fair on May 10th.

School-Wide Spelling Bee Winners

Congratulations to Dee Scruggs(7th grade) for winning the School-wide Spelling Bee for 2018.
