Science Fair Information

We are excited about this year's science fair as it will be a virtual fair.  There are 9 categories for experiments, and materials kits will be provided at students' request and delivered to schools.  Students will be given information in their science classes.  If you have questions please reach out to Mrs. Laub or Ms. Schupp.  Please click on the link for more information.  Go Cougars!

Soccer Tryouts

Soccer tryouts will be held April 12-15, 2021 from 4-6 pm.  Please try and make it to all 4 days of tryouts.  If you are not able to do all four days please let coach Thompson know.  If you are an 8th grader that is trying out for JV, please contact Mr. Thompson so he can work out what you will need to do.  Please bring cleats, shin guards, and indoor running shoes in case of inclement weather.  You must have a valid VHSL physical to participate.  There will be no activity buses running, so parent or guardian will need to pick you up at 6pm.

Volleyball Tryouts

Volleyball season is just around the corner.  Tryouts will take place on 2/16/21 and 2/17/21.  Must have a valid VHSL physical and COVID waiver form to participate.  Both of these are available here on our webpage.  There are no activity buses available this year.  Please call the school at 434-946-0691 if you have any questions or concerns.  

Sweet Briar Habits of Homework Assistance

Sweet Briar College is again offering Habits of Homework assistance to students second semester.  Please see the fliers for more information.  This is a great opportunity if your students need extra help with their school work. 

PBL Information February 8-12

During the week of February 8-12, all ACPS students will be working to complete two Project Based Learning (PBL) opportunities in the areas of Humanities and STEM. These PBLs will be downloaded to students’ Chromebooks this week and next, to allow parents an opportunity to review content prior the week of remote instruction. Students may choose which two PBLs are completed from the choices provided. Parents should contact Amherst Middle School if they have questions or concerns.  434-946-0691
